The Boy Who Could Fly

By George Young

David wished he could fly.

Every year, David would close his eyes and make the same wish.

“I wish I wish I WISH I could fly,” David would say.

“One day you’ll be able to fly,” said his mum.

Every New Year’s Day, David would get out of bed and jump as high as he could.

“Mum! I can’t fly,” David would say.

“One day you’ll be able to fly,” said his mum.

After many years passed by, David got into an airplane.

The airplane took off into the bright sunny sky.

“Mum!” David said, “I can fly!”

“Your mum is always right, dear,” his mum said.
